I'm all about the new blogger

So many times in the past, I've started a blog only to give up before it actually reached its full potential. I know what it's like. I also know how to overcome those new blogger obstacles. Let me help you make it through those first 6 months of blogging hell.

You'll Get: Success Motivation - New Blogger Tips - Free Stuff - No Spam

Social Triggers - No Search FormI’ve been dying to write about this for the last 24 hours. I’m going for it.

Derek Halpern of SocialTriggers.com has released an article that has the blogosphere going nuts. You’ve either commented on the post, read it and formulated your own opinion, or you’re about  to read it now.

I read it yesterday when it was first published and I didn’t realize how big of a deal it would be.

I was one of the first 15 people or so to leave a comment and it now has 130 comments and counting only a day later.

Writer's BlockEvery blogger who has stayed with the lifestyle for more than a couple of months will tell you that there are times that just seem impossible to make it through.

You lose a little bit of passion because of various reasons. All of a sudden, your posting frequency slows down and you write less and less “epic shit,” as Corbett Barr likes to call it.

It happens to the best of us.

It’s even harder to get through if you don’t have an editorial calendar to keep you writing on schedule.

Here’s what I like to do to get through the hard times and back on the high road.

Long Road Ahead - Photo by gmnonic(Photo Credit Below)The path to success is a constant struggle.

The last thing you want to do on the road to success is digress into a state of self-pity.

During your journey, you can only count on one person to keep you motivated in times where things do not seem as promising as they once were. That person, when glaring back at you in the mirror, is the the only person who fully understands what brought you to this moment, as well as the reasoning behind why you must push forward.

Lyle ClassroomThe great thing about being a new blogger is that there’s no shortage of information on how to succeed as an internet entrepreneur. It’s like clockwork. How to Blog and How to Make Money Blogging blogs are everywhere and there are new ones produced everyday.

This blog even falls into those categories. So, I don’t necessarily consider it to be a bad thing. But it can definitely mislead bloggers and make them think that things are a little more simple than they really are.

There’s a problem, though.

Should new bloggers really be seeing Pat Flynn’s $40,000 monthly income reports at this point? Sure, they offer intense motivation to become an internet entrepreneur. But is it really that easy. Really?

13 Reasons Why I Hate Your Blog (Part 4)

Why I Hate Your Blog Reason 4And here we are again for the fourth part of the series, 13 Reasons Why I Hate Your Blog.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of blog content, and how articles can be randomly viewed with no connection to previous content, I have to let you know what this series is all about.

I don’t actually hate your blog. I mean… it annoys me a little bit, but I don’t hate it. ;)

The purpose of this series is to point out common blogging practices that I view as mistakes and should be avoided. I also intend to provide a solution or alternative to every problem that I point out.

So, this series should be more helpful than hurtful.

Without further ado, let’s get on with the show.

Sometimes, I feel guilty about the fact that the title of this website alludes to positive thinking and thoughts of success. Do I ever talk about success thoughts?

Sure, I do. But not as much as you would think when you first visit.

Even worse, nothing about the name suggests a technical lesson in internet entrepreneurship.

That’s okay, though. The beauty of having your own place to express your feelings online is that you can do it however you want, whenever you want.

For me, everything about success in my life leads to the internet, design, and writing.

These are things that I love to do. If I had all the money in the cyberworld, I’d still find myself glued to a computer talking to you about what it takes to make it as an internet entrepreneur.

Let’s change the pace a little bit, for once.

What I’ve Learned About Blog Design

Aesthetics can wreak havoc on the minds of new bloggers. Oh yes it can.

I’m not necessarily a new blogger in terms of experience but in measuring success, you can say I’m just above novice.

Either way, I fall victim to a form of procrastination that leads me to constantly changing my blog design with no real goal for the overall look.

It’s such a slippery slope.

Every time I make a change, it clashes with a previously satisfying part of my design. So here I am again making changes to that part, only to disrupt something else.

Oh my God. This has to end.

Thinking...I won’t lie, this is probably the most exciting time of my life.

I’ve had the opportunity to do some pretty intense things but never with this kind of freedom. The thrill of the curiosity, determination, and uncertainty make for a very interesting combination.

If you’re not quite picking up what I’m putting down, be sure to read the first two parts of this series, if you want to tall it that.

  1. Career Change at Damn Near 30: What Am I Thinking?
  2. Career Change at Damn Near 30: It’s Here

Anyway, there’s a new and interesting twist on things that has me all kinds of excited. I feel better than I ever have before.
