Do You Create Content That Excites People?

First, let me explain to you now that this will not be a guide for creating exciting content.

There are plenty of guides in the blogosphere for that.

I don’t want to sound like everyone else and tell you to be yourself, write like you talk, and all of that nonsense.

Instead, I look to raise awareness with this article and you can choose your own path for fixing the “problem” if you feel that you have one.

Does your content excite people?

If you have your own list of favorite blogs, I’m sure you know what I am talking about.

Exciting content makes you come back a few days later excited to see the latest post. Possibly, you’ve visited the blog once or twice everyday to see if they’ve posted anything new.

You can tell if you are creating this kind of content because there will be consistency in who comments on your posts.

For thirty days, Corbett Barr of CorbettBarr.com post something on his blog. It was something he vowed to do and he kept up with it quite well.

During that thirty days, I enjoyed nothing more than waking up in the morning to read and comment on his brand spanking new post. It was exciting to wait for the page to load, read the post, start typing a comment, check back to see who else has commented, etc. I loved it.

There are a few other blogs that excite me that way, too.

How about your blog?

Have you noticed anyone reading your content every time you post and commenting almost immediately? That’s an indication that your content excites that person. They can’t wait to read it and they feel like it’s Christmas all over again every time the see something new on your blog.

A few days ago, I watched a trailer for a movie coming out in May of 2012 that really got me excited. The trailer was for Men In Black III. I cannot wait to see it!

I remember being so entertained by the first two movies when I was a kid. So, when I saw the trailer for part III, I couldn’t help but smile and think about how I am going to see the movie as soon as it comes out.

I feel like I know for sure that the movie will be good. I enjoy the fictional characters, Will Smith’s funny ways, and the overall plot of the movie series. So, I know I’ll enjoy this one as well.

Here’s the trailer if you haven’t seen it…

Are you creating content that makes your readers feel this way when they wake up to an email that has your blog name in the subject line?

I feel like this should be the goal of every blogger.

Create content that not only keeps people coming back, but makes them excited to come back.

Again, it’s up to you to figure out how to do that. Just make sure this is one of your main goals.

For the last three months, I’ve written content on this blog and not once have I thought about making it exciting to my readers. I look to add value to their lives. I look to provide solid information and advice that they can use. But I have never thought about entertaining them enough to make them excited to return to my blog.

I think it’s time to change that.

Derek Halpern of SocialTriggers.com excites his readers by providing one of a kind content that you most likely won’t find anywhere else in the blogosphere. He has a unique view on almost everything blogging related which definitely grabs and holds your attention. Very exciting!

Pat Flynn of SmartPassiveIncome.com excites his readers by providing extremely valuable tips to help people make money online. The key to his exciting content is that it all leads up to his monthly income reports which he posts every month. Seeing a $40,000 month makes every post in between income reports that much more exciting.

Jacob Sokol of Sensophy.com is just an exciting person and I think he knows that. That’s why he has a ton of videos on his blog. You can feel his excitement and passion in every video. That definitely motivates people to return to his blog with excitement.

If you can create content that has this kind of effect on people, you will be well on your way to having a successful blog.

Now, if I could only figure out how to make more content more exciting…
